My name is Blendi Brazhdi. I serve as the pastor of a small church located in Gjakova, Kosovo. I was born in the small town of Gramsh, Albania. My spiritual journey began in 1994 when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and subsequently underwent baptism in June 1995. That same year, I completed a comprehensive year of discipleship training under the guidance of our pastor. In the early stages of my ministry, I devoted myself to serving the Lord as a church leader, actively participating in various ministries focused on children, youth & evangelism in nearby villages. In 1997, I embarked on a theological education, enrolling in the first theological school in Albania, from which I graduated in 2000.
The desire to engage in mission work & church planting in Kosovo took shape in 1999, amidst the tumult of the Kosovo War. During this period, many Kosovars sought refuge in Albania; several families found shelter within our church community. As church leaders, we took on the responsibility of caring for these families for several months, an experience that ignited our vision for evangelism & discipleship in Kosovo. In 2004, I married Jonilda. Together we have been blessed with three children: Ester, Amelja and Leonard. As a family we are committed to serving God and contributing to the life of the church in Kosovo.
Kosovo is characterized by a predominantly Muslim population, approximately 96%, which presents unique challenges in disseminating the gospel. In 2000, we initiated the planting of a church in the village of Rugova, which has a population of around 10,000. In 2005, we transitioned to Gjakova where we continue our mission today. Our primary focus has been on serving the Roma community, a group that faces considerable challenges, including high levels of illiteracy and a wide array of unmet needs.
Our church is actively involved in several ministries, including children’s meetings, youth gatherings, Bible study sessions, prayer and worship services, as well as women’s and couples’ ministries. Central to our mission is the overarching vision of reaching as many individuals as possible with the message of Christ’s gospel.
We humbly invite you to support our efforts in the following ways:
- Prayer: Please pray for our ministries, the growth of the church, and the people of Kosovo as they navigate their spiritual journeys.
- Visits: We welcome visitors and encourage groups from churches to come and engage with our community. Personal visits foster deeper connections and understanding of our work.
- Financial Support: As you feel guided by the Holy Spirit, we appreciate financial contributions that enable us to sustain and expand our ministries. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.
In conclusion, while the challenges in Kosovo are considerable, the opportunities for sharing the gospel and transforming lives are immense. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serve and are grateful for any support you might offer in this vital mission. Thank you for your consideration and partnership in advancing the Kingdom of God in Kosovo.
