The mission at Arms of Mercy is to bring ten million plus souls to the Saviour. We are simply agents of the Good News for the Holy Spirit. - Filipinos accept the Bible as the Word of God.
- The strong Catholic heritage of the Philippines has mistakenly given it the distinction of being “the only Christian nation in Asia.” Folk Catholicism is far from true Christianity, but it has resulted in the acceptance of the Bible as the Word of God. Few read Scripture, but they accept it as truth.
- Filipinos are open to the Gospel.
- The Filipino population of over 100 million are more open to the Gospel than ever before. When Evangelicals first arrived in the Philippines, they met with strong resistance. Catholics were committed to their own religion, declaring they were born Catholic and they would die Catholic. Believers who put their faith in Jesus for salvation were called “Born-Agains” and were ostracized. But now, with an openness in the Catholic church to individuals reading and studying the Bible, many Filipinos are open to the Gospel.
- Filipinos are positioned to impact all of Asia.
- While Asia holds the bulk of the world’s population, the Philippines is poised to uniquely impact this part of the world. Around 10% of the Philippine population, a force of 11 million people. are Overseas Contract Workers. This is possible because of Filipinos’ education level, their strong use of English, and their renown friendly disposition. In the Middle East, they are welcomed and make up a sizable portion of the imported workforce. This huge labor force can gain entry into many nations closed to Westerners. Impacting Filipinos at home with Bible-based Character Training will impact other nations in Asia. Only God could have set up this amazing task force for His purposes.
