Dear Friends,
The other day, my wife, Andrea, and I, seeking legal and professional advice for our project, met with a well-respected and well known lawyer who took his valuable time to listen to our presentation. With an indifferent face and an incredulous look, the lawyer made some interruptions to ask us questions. Perhaps throughout his career he has had to listen to so many people with proposals similar to ours.
We said, “We want to serve and work with children; we want to provide a healthy and welcoming space for both children and their families. A space where children can be children without being forced to work as adults instead of receiving education. We said…It would be like “adopting” the whole family…where parents and children can improve their family lifestyle.”
“A very laudable desire,” he said. “There are many who are currently doing that,” he added. Then he asked a question that would change the atmosphere of the conversation: “What is the reason you want to do such a thing?” His face and words changed as he listened to our response. We said, have you ever received good news or maybe a gift that filled your life with such joy that you were unable to keep quiet and wanted to tell everyone about it? Yes, he said. For we have experienced the grace of God that has caused so much joy and hope in our lives that we can not keep it for ourselves; others have to know that despite the circumstances there is someone who cares for them, for those who feel less and despised…that is Jesus and we are His servants and we want to share it with others.”
After giving us some legal guidelines, he added: “I am here to serve you and I want to know more about the project, keep me posted.” It was certainly a productive meeting that would challenge us to take steps of faith.
Andrea and Iare responding to a call that has been in our hearts even before we got married. Throughout our lives we have shared a passion to serve God and we have always been involved in serving the Lord within our local church and missionary work. We have participated and learned a lot with various mission ministries that perform exceptional work.
In the last year God has awakened again that desire to develop a proper ministry for families in unreached communities under the name “In the Gap.” According to Ezekiel 22:30, God is searching among his people for someone who can stand in the gap, just between God and the land so as not to be destroyed. Sadly in the passage, i tsays “…I found none.” You and I are called to stand in that gap; how are we going to respond? We are part of “The Great Commission” and carry the good news of salvation.
We want to encourage and challenge you to respond to the Lord’s call to fulfill the Great Commission. There are different stages of involvement:
1 – Going. Matthew 28:19:20
2 – Praying. Matthew 9:38
3 – Giving. Luke 6:38
We are just beginning the project “In the Gap” and perhaps it is one of the most demanding stages and we require all possible help as we can get, both in prayers and financial gifts. All financial gifts are tax deductible. If God puts it in your heart, click this donate button.
Soon you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
