Praneeth Pallepogu

Hello all. My name is Praneeth Pallepogu and I have been blessed to be Founder and President of a Gospel centered organization called Ray of Hope. Ray of Hope was birthed from an encounter with my mother at the age of 21. My mother was a government officer and she informed me of a large need for blankets to be provided for orphaned children and elderly adults at a government home. Being that the blanket provision was unmet, my heart went out to all those who would be affected by the cold weather. It was then and there that the beginnings of Ray of Hope started to bloom. I contacted some close friends and together we put our heads together to pursue the vision of Ray of Hope, a movement focused on reaching the least of these with the hope of Christ through both physical and spiritual assistance. Our heartbeat was to reach the unreached. By the grace of God, some friends from the USA also partnered with us, influencing the organization’s growth and reach.

Through His faithfulness, the Lord brought alongside Ray of Hope a few committed and generous partners, willing to give sacrificially to this mission in order to see orphaned children and elderly adults have their needs for clothing, food, health, and ultimately hope fulfilled.

This was the turning point for us as this showed the kind of trust that people had in us and also that almost everyone is interested in reaching out to the needy and just needed a medium which they could trust their resources with. We decided to be the channel through which help was rendered. Our initial plan, after I heard about the need from my mother, was to collect funds that would suffice to buy blankets and mattresses for those in need. Considering the amount of publicity it had generated, however, our funds were equally mind-blowing and by the end of the campaign, we ended up collecting around 10 times more than what we originally set out for!!! Now with more funds than expected, we went miles ahead and purchased clothes, play equipment, lots of books and book shelves for the children, as well as entertainment supplies for the elderly.

It’s amazing how God works. Our initial plan was this short term campaign, however, this experience changed it all! We were so grateful at the way God provided the funds necessary for those in need and how He was faithful to use us to meet those needs. Our team truly walked away from the experience knowing that we could have done nothing without God and those who gave so sacrificially. Because of that experience, word of mouth about Ray of Hope began to spread and my friends and I started to think about how we could press into this work long term. Because of His grace, since that time we have been able to provide assistance to the local Good Samaritan Home, schools for the blind and deaf, as well as other institutions. Even though we didn’t start out thinking this work would run continuously, God continued to provide so we knew we had to continue laboring! Due to the way God was using us to help those in need, we determined that our organization name should reflect that: A Ray of Hope. We wanted to send the message that, through the love of Jesus, a ray of hope would always be available to those in need.

Now, over 10 years later, God has continued to sustain Ray of Hope and we have been able to invest in our community in a number of ways. Currently we have a few initiatives taking place:

  • The Children’s Center, which is similar to a foster home in the United States, provides a home for 300 girl children who come from poor home situations, such as abuse, child trafficking or neglect. Some of the children also reside at the home to gain access to better education or medical help.
  • Child Sponsorship Initiative (CSI), a program that allows an individual or a group of individuals to extend support to one child. The aim of this program is to generate financial support for a child in terms of educational provision, medical care, and food expenses.
  • Health Camps, which are field projects aimed at assisting children in improving their health. We also financially sponsor crucial surgeries (heart and brain related) for children who come from families unable to bear the costs.

We stand so grateful for how God has moved over the last decade and we trust that He will continue to provide so that we can continue to labor among His beloved people. Being that our Children’s Center is growing and we are always in need of finances to help cover their expenses in order to ensure a top quality home useful for their growth, we are asking God to raise up more laborers to partner with us in this work. If you feel so led to walk alongside of us in this mission, please donate via the link below and feel free to contact me with questions at praneethofficial77@gmail.com. God bless!
