Michelle Reeves

Michelle “Shelly” has been serving in Guatemala since 2008. After teaching kindergarten, first grade, and ESL in schools throughout the country, she discovered a passion for Deaf ministry and opened the first class for the Deaf at New Life Christian School in 2015. Shelly has served as a teacher and interpreter for the Deaf ever since, though her most challenging and simultaneously rewarding work at the moment is that of fostering an eight-year-old Deaf child.

Having achieved her goal of training a Guatemalan national to take over teaching her class, Shelly will be leaving the classroom and transitioning into orphan prevention and foster care support ministry in 2021. Though it will be a big change, she is excited for the new vision the Lord has given her to reach vulnerable children and their families with the love of Christ.
