MY MINISTRY OF YOUTH MENTORSHIP- INTERDENOMINATIONAL PRAYER AND FASTING MOUNTAIN AND THE MINISTRY OF EVANGELICALS MEDIATION AND RECONCILIATION
My calling to mentor youth goes back to 1971 when as a young college graduate employed as a high school teacher, I opted to serve my students as a mentor providing fatherly instructions and guidance. I availed most of my time and personal resources to organize Christian youth camps, conferences, seminars and character building activities. In all these endeavors, God was Faithful.
I have witnessed the raising of a crop of faithful responsible and dedicated leaders who have gone out to serve their communities and country with the love of God.
In 1982, I founded the now famous Kenya National Schools and drama festivals which has become an annual co-curricular activity now incorporated into our National Education system.
The impact of drama and Music on our youth has been indeed immense. In recognition of this service and contribution, the president awarded me “Head of State Commendation” Medal (HSC) in 2006.
I opted to join full time Ministry in 2002 and my specific focus has been on youth mentorship. I have availed my time and resources to serve youth from broken homes, single mothers, orphans and the vulnerable youngsters who look to me as their father figure.
In 2018, my wife Josephine and I opted to secure and set aside a piece of land to build an interdenominational prayer and fasting mountain and a Christian retreat center in the name of Rehoboth. It is situated in the serene part of the North Rift Valley and is poised to be most suitable as a venue for youth training in character development as well as offering adequate room for interdenominational prayer and fasting. This will also be available for mediation, reconciliation and conflict resolutions for Evangelical Ministers in conflict that usually require a neutral ground for discussion and resolving of the conflicts. My appointment as a Spiritual Elder with the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya Vihiga Chapter entrusted with the task of mediation and reconciliation will find this facility very useful.
I am therefore seeking international partners to fully establish Rehoboth Prayer and fasting Mountain and Christian retreat center.
I am fully convinced that this center will transform lives in the extension of the Kingdom of God.
I will share testimonies from at least three individuals who were mentored by me and are now formidable responsible people in society today.
