The moments that change our lives rarely announce themselves. I had no idea that hitting rock bottom would alter the course of my life. After all, it was just a little alcohol. What was the harm? I wasn’t using drugs everyday. I could still function. But it was when it cost me my family that everything changed. Something had to give.

As drugs and alcohol took control of my life, I felt as if the Hand of God reached down into the darkness surrounding me, and pulled me out.

I want to share that with everyone I meet.

In 2017, my family and I stepped out on faith, in order to start “La Mano de Dios”. A ministry that is dedicated to seeing lives changed by the gospel of Jesus. I believe it is my calling to bring hope to the homeless by providing them with love, support, and a second chance. While it isn’t always easy, I know that God is behind this vision, and I live everyday as if God is in control. I spend most days meeting with men and women who, like us all, need a second chance. I’m just grateful that we serve the God of countless second chances.

La Mano de Dios is a ministry working alongside the homeless and forgotten in Antigua Guatemala and the surrounding communities. We partner with local churches, organizations, and people who are devoted to seeing sustainable change in the lives of men and women who deserve to live a better story.

Our mission is to bring hope to the homeless in Guatemala by creating environments where they can flourish, and live a better story.

Our vision is to see the chains of addiction broken by the power of the Gospel, and to see true restoration happen in all of Guatemala.

Right now, we are serving the homeless in 4 specific ways:

  1. We acquired land in the nearby community of El Hato, and built two recovery homes for a few men that are committed to changing their life by getting sober and finding God. Our vision is to see up to 20 men at a time join this program and find the support they need to better themselves, and Guatemala.

  2. We help oversee a local coffee shop that serves roughly 30-40 homeless men and women Monday through Saturday from 7am-12pm. This is part of our partnership with a YWAM ministry. We’ve helped create a space where they can come and read, study the Bible, watch movies, bathe, and experience community on a daily basis.

  3. We provide breakfast for 30 – 40 homeless men and women three times a week. This is a chance to meet the physical needs of those we serve. We believe that this will open doors down the road for us to reach them on a deeper level.

  4. Our goal is to breathe life into the community of El Hato by building homes for those less fortunate, and improving the lives of those around our recovery homes. This project will be staffed by those in our Recovery Program. We also plan on partnering with the local school here in El Hato, meeting the needs of the many students who can’t afford basic necessities.

Won’t you consider joining us in this ministry? You can help us in 3 ways:

  1. PRAY for us as we follow the voice of God.

  2. GIVE to what God is doing in Guatemala.

  3. SHARE what we are doing with everyone you know.

Thank you for believing in us as we follow Jesus.

We have partnered with Commission Ministers Network to raise funds for our ministry.
