David Ray

My call is to assist small ministries in Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America with social and economic development projects.

I have a degree in Dairy Cattle management and a Certificate in Computer Programming.  At the beginning of our post-college career, my wife and I worked in agricultural development in Bolivia.  I have worked in agriculture and information technology in the Untied States.  I served for several years as the bi-vocational pastor of a church focused on helping low-income people here in the lower Rio Grande valley of Texas .  I am currently taking training in developing healthy soil biology. We are located on a half-acre property which I am using for trials of crops and techniques that can be helpful to farmers and gardeners around the world.

The primary focus my current ministry is the development of youth  education programs based on gardening and regenerative agriculture.  These programs are intended to serve as means to:

  1. Teach them to know God and grow in relationship with HIM and to keep them away from bad influences.
  2. Teach them basic values of earning money from working not from dishonest actions.
  3. Provide them with the desire and knowledge to value and care for the creation that God has provided for us.

I am currently working with the following two ministries in Northern Haiti:

J & I Ferme Agricole (Justice and Integrity Farm)

Mission Evangelique du Nord d’Haiti (MENH)

I am working with three Christian farmers in Western Uganda to connect them with organizations and resources  to improve their own farming practices and to support them as they share what they are doing with their neighbors.
