Cameron Root

My name is Cameron Root and I’m entering my senior year of high school. This summer will be my first of hopefully many summers serving as a Summer Missionary at Mt. Hope Bible Camp in Forbestown, California. I’m looking forward to serving and striving to steward God’s presence in all that I do. I’m excited to grow with my fellow missionaries and to develop a stronger faith in Christ Jesus as well as make camp a place where campers’ lives can be radically forever changed for the better.

I believe that to fill others you first must be filled. To know Jesus is to know love and to love Jesus is to love others. This is my testimony.

At a camp like mount hope I found Jesus, without reservation or doubt or question I found Him. Through the work of the staff and Gods will the spirit filled the camp and for the first time God became real to me. He became closer than a brother and just as real as my peers around me. He revealed to me miraculously about my calling in life and my purpose in this world. He has called me to youth ministry, specifically pastorally. I believe that God wants to work in this camp the same way He worked in mine and I want nothing more than to be apart of Him working in the lives of others.

To be a missionary is to show others the love and passion of Christ, in all of its forms. Specifically serving. Serving is something that fills me. Cleaning and working may not be the easiest things to do but knowing that it makes the campers more comfortable and helps makes a connection with God easier makes all of it worth it.

Support means so much to me, prayer being the foremost. With Gods support and blessing all else will fall together into place. While being financially supported is not a goal it is helpful for the continuation of being able to serve. Any and all support is so appreciated and cherished.

God Bless!!
