Thanks for wanting to meet to hear more about who we are and what we are doing. As you may know, Tara and I are full-time missionaries with an organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). We are based in Nelson, New Zealand, but our impact is global!
Ever since giving our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ back in the 1990’s we’ve had a passion to know God and to make Him known. We’ve steadfastly committed our lives to serving the Lord and sharing the Good News of the Gospel around the world. Since the early 2000’s we’ve been full-time missionaries with YWAM and have seen hundreds of young people trained and sent into the nations, many still serving there. As well, we’ve seen nearly 2,000 people give their lives to the Lord. Tara and I count it a joy to be able to build God’s Kingdom around the world.
Did you know that YWAM is one of the world’s largest missionary organizations with over 32,000 full time staff serving at 2,500 campuses in over 190 countries? This movement is both international and interdenominational. YWAM’s primary focuses are training, evangelism and mercy ministry. Our motto, much like my life, is “To Know God and Make Him Known.”
We’ve helped to pioneer and establish several YWAM locations and schools. You may know that nearly 5 years ago Tara and I helped to establish the newest YWAM training location in New Zealand, here in Nelson. It’s truly a God story of how we had $126 and He provided a 24 bedroom estate for us to run our evangelism and training courses in. We started right before COVID hit, and while it was challenging, we have done very well and have a great team. Currently Tara and I are part of the core Leadership Team and I oversee all of the training programs, evangelism, community connections and many other areas while Tara oversees communications and fills in where needed. We also both help with pastoral care.
It is our intention to continue following God’s call on our lives serving as full-time missionaries. We can’t do it alone, and don’t want to try! We need a team of partners who will stand with us so that the good news of Jesus can be shared throughout the nations. I know that together, we can change many lives.
