As a Chaplain in the USAF; I ensure the 1st Amendment rights for our military members and families. I also advise leadership on issues of a moral, ethical, and/or religious nature. I also advise on issues of morale for our military members.
My ministry is in the context of a pluralistic subculture of America. I am a chaplain to many members of various faiths and those with no affiliation with religious organizations . As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I present myself as such. I do not proselytize; however, I minister out of a sense that all of humanity was made in the image of God. As such, I extend counsel to those who seek it and I share my faith with those who seek and are willing to hear my faith experiences.
In my role as the minister in the chapel, I conduct myself as that of the minister. I only perform marriages, services, funerals, give communion, etc…as a minister of the Christian faith.
In short I am a Protestant minister to those of the Christian faith, but I am a Chaplain to all of my military members.
I am married to Bethany and have three children. I have been Ordained by CMN.
