Hi, we are a home-schooling family of 6 from Tauranga, New Zealand – Dad Mike, Mum Sarah, and kids: Michal, Ezekiel, Elisha and Judah.
Mike had been involved with Youth with a Mission and King’s Kids as a teenager and has had missions on his heart for many years. He did a DTS with YWAM on the Island Mercy in 1998.
Sarah took a bit longer and jumped on board with the idea while helping as a leader on a Youth group trip to Cambodia in 2012.
We felt the San Diego/Mexico area was where God wanted us to be, and after knocking on a few doors that didn’t open we made the connection with a church in San Diego.
We had the opportunity to travel to America for 3 weeks at the end of 2015 to meet the leadership team from the church, and also met the team and kids from the orphanage they run in Tijuana.
Through this trip we felt God impress on us even further that this was where he was calling us too and so we sold everything and one year later we arrived in Mexico.
For the first two years in Mexico we worked with a local ministry providing orphanage support to various orphanages, but in 2019 we felt God leading us away from orphanage support and to focus more on working with communities.
We are now partnered with a number of missionaries and organizations working in Community support and development in Tijuana and Rosarito.
Currently our work focuses mostly in response to the economic effects that Covid-19 has had on families and communities here.
Our dream is to run an internship and ministry program for individuals and teams from around the world, to provide a reciprocal life changing experience for those that come and those they minister to, and to work in communities/families/small groups to see real lasting change for the better, both spiritually and physically, for all involved.
We came here with one plan, but God had another and we continue to walk forwards in faith.
