Juntos Guatemala

The call to serve in the Kingdom of God began in 1991 in the hearts of ours parents Hilda y Roduel Pérez, who instilled in us love and service to others, especially those less included by the country´s government. The main objective is to provide tools to care for the comprehensive health of communities: Spiritual health, physical health and emotional health.

God has given us the opportunity to work in two areas in Guatemala: Ixcan, Quiche; which is located in the north part of Quiche department (state) and has 200 villages and San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Sacatepéquez, which is located in the Central zone of Guatemala.

For our ministry is important to watch over the spiritual, physical and emotional life of people. Therefore, in the Ixcan area we have a Bible seminary, the majority of whom are low-income people, with a low level of education, but who currently have seen the need to be pastors of their churches and community leaders in their villages, who through the seminary are given studies so that they can grow spiritually and in knowledge for the good discernment of the Word of God, likewise they are given tools so that they can promote the development in their communities

For physical health, we work with appropriate technology, building stoves, water filters, and latrines so that people can have a more dignified life, since they are communities forgotten by the Guatemalan government due to their distance from the capital and also because of their difficult access.

Along with the construction, we focus on training people and monitoring the projects so that they give it the proper use and thus achieve the optimal operation of the projects. But also, during training, installation or monitoring our supervisor takes the opportunity to establish a more personal connection with the families, praying for them, evangelizing and discipling in their local language as much as possible.

Emotional needs of families – We have a group of 40 women who are given counseling and discipleship so that they can educate their children according to Biblical principles as well as being the ideal help for their husbands. They are also given motivational talks, entrepreneurship workshops on sewing, looms, cooking, nutrition, teamwork, planting vegetables, among others.

The objective is to form Christian women leaders who can be influential in their families and in their communities, women who can break the stereotypes imposed by society.

In San Antonio Aguas Calientes, our hometown, Mirna Pérez works as a psychologist in the community’s public school, which has 760 children between 7 and 16 years of age. Attending individual cases, giving talks to teachers and children, as well as a school for parents with the support of North American churches.

The children Mirna sees suffer from domestic violence, alcoholism, physical, sexual and emotional abuse.

We also work with the physical needs of families of the children who study at school, providing them with food, stoves or houses so that they can live a more dignified life in the midst of the poverty they suffer.

Our team includes a teacher,1 supervisor 5 community technicians, 1 coordinator for women as well as the unconditional support of Hilda Pérez who is one of the founders of the ministry and together, we always carry out the projects asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
