We are Arturo and Carmen Enriquez. We met in 1998 on a summer project playing praise music. We joined hearts through marriage in 1999 and the next year started our Theological studies at the Puebla Biblical Seminary, Mexico.
In 2001 we started serving the Lord by ministering to children in the Cristo Viene Baptist Church of the city of Puebla. Soon we were privileged also to be part of the evangelism and church planting towards the rural community of San Francisco Ocatlán, now in the states of Puebla. In 2003 we were invited to form participate of the El Camino Biblical Church ministry to their children and youth.
By October of 2005, Arturo became a music teacher at the Mexican Madero Institute, which let him to become their Arts and Music Coordinator. While there he started and lead the Madero Child Choir and Orchestra.
We participated as Music Training staff for the Valsecamp Music Youth Camp. Later became the Children’s Choir Directors for the United Choir of Puebla, 300 strong choir that celebrates Jesus’ birth every Christmas in public auditoriums.
Our family: Keila is 19, our firstborn, who loves to read, practice ballet and has played the violin since she was 8 years old. At the moment, she is training a group of small violinists. Her dream is to dedicate herself to the Arts and have an impact on many children through Ballet and Music.
Jerameel is 15 and the spark of life in our home. She practices gymnastics and plays the flute since she was 9 years old. She loves to teach which she does in Sunday School as a teacher for the little ones. She says she will become a missionary when she grows up.
Gadiel is our little warrior, who when he was 2, had a Tuberculous Lymphoma removed. It and its treatment caused much damage to his health until the Lord healed him. (This is quite a story to tell!) Now he is 9 years old, loves dinosaurs, soccer, using a tie and playing the guitar.
Our Spiritual Growth and Service: We witness God using music to make Himself known, which led us to found the International School of Music and Art (CIMA) in 2012 with the purpose to proclaim the love of God through the beautiful art of music. Around that time, Carmen, experienced a significant transformation in her relationship with the Lord as she was training to become a Biblical Story Narrator. The El Puente Church leadership and encouragement were foundational to our spiritual and ministry growth as we made these decisions.
Through the years that we have worshiped at and served God as worship leaders through the El Puente Church we have grown. In these last months, we have felt God call us to commit our lives to full time ministry. Fully committed to sharing the Gospel, discipling believers through small groups, coordinating counseling for the hurt and using music as a way to reach the lost.
We have applied to Commission Ministers Network and are so encouraged that we have been accepted. This coming July 2018, Arturo will leave his Madero Mexican Institute staff job and join El Puente Church full time as Executive Pastor. He will focus on building the evangelism, discipleship and counseling ministries of El Puente. We will continue to be missionaries to the upcoming generations through our CIMA music outreach.
We invite you to be part of what the Lord will do in these next generations. It would be an honor for us to team up together with you to serve in God’s Kingdom. Look forward to hearing from you!
