Galen and Doris Hackman have been married 50 years (as of November, 2023) and have spent those years in service to the Lord and His church. Galen has been a pastor, missionary and teacher in a wide variety of places. In 2016, Galen left full-time pastoral work to serve as an entrepreneurial leader providing training and coaching for pastors and consulting with congregations around issues of vitality and transition. In that capacity he often travels to minister in other countries, particularly on the African continent, but also in the Caribbean and Central America. He has written several books used in pastoral training in various African countries.
Doris has served at Galen’s side in a variety of ways, from being a pastor’s wife and all that entails, to teaching women domestic skills in Africa, overseeing food services for work camps and otherwise giving support to congregations and missions in many behind-the-scenes ways. She currently serves the community in which they live and a near-by retirement community, by providing clothing alterations and other domestic needs.
Together they have traveled widely, having visited all 50 states and a score of other countries. Best of all, they are parents to three married children and twelve amazing grandchildren.
Galen holds ministry credentials with several organizations and is ordained by the Commission Ministry Network by which Doris is also commissioned for ministry.
